Built for Athletes Who Want More Than a Roster Spot

You’re not here to “stay active.” You’re here to get faster, hit harder, and separate yourself from everyone competing for the same position. Grit’s high school program is for athletes in any sport — soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, track, and more — who are ready to train with structure and intent.

Whether you’re fighting for a varsity spot, prepping for club tryouts, or trying to stay durable through a long season, GRIT is where the work gets done.

The Four Things That Show Up on Game Day

Speed & Acceleration — First-step quickness, top-end sprint mechanics, and change of direction. The difference between getting to the ball first and watching someone else get there.

Strength & Power — Age-appropriate, progressive strength work that translates to the field and court. No ego lifting, no shortcuts — just measurable gains.

Conditioning — Sport-specific engines. Be the athlete still sprinting in the fourth quarter or the 90th minute.

Injury Resilience — Mobility, landing mechanics, and tissue prep that keep you on the field. The best ability is availability.

Small Groups. Real Coaching. FULL GRIT

Sessions run in small groups capped at 12 athletes at Hidden Valley in Santa Rosa — enough energy to compete, small enough that every rep gets coached. Every session is programmed and led by a certified performance coach (NASM CPT, ACE Youth Fitness Specialist) with 600+ competitive matches and a decade of coaching behind him.

This isn’t a bootcamp and it isn’t PE. It’s structured performance training with progressions that build week over week.

About Your Coach

Oliver Mooyman — NASM Certified Personal Trainer + ACE Youth Fitness Specialist

I grew up playing soccer and picked up my first set of weights at 10. From there, training became less of a hobby and more of an obsession — not just how to get stronger, but why structured training changes the way athletes think, compete, and carry themselves.

I have played and coached at increasingly competitive levels — 800+ matches across Oregon and California, captained Deacon Blue FC in the Greater Portland Soccer District to a league title — and spent years coaching youth development and club teams, including 1.5 years as Soccer Coordinator at i9 Sports and time with Santa Rosa United. That experience taught me what separates athletes who plateau from those who keep improving: it’s not talent — it’s how they train.

I started Grit Athletic Training to bring professional-level youth athletic training to Santa Rosa and Sonoma County. Every session is built around how your sport actually moves, not generic gym routines.

My Philosophy

Every athlete — at every level — has more than they realize. My job is to help them find it. Speed, strength, and confidence aren’t reserved for elite athletes. They’re built. And I’ll show you how.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sports do you train?
All of them. Speed, strength, power, and conditioning are the foundation of every sport. Sessions include sport-specific work based on who’s in the group — soccer, football, basketball, volleyball, track, baseball, and more.

What ages is this for?
This program is built for high school athletes (roughly 14–18). Younger athletes should check out our youth training sessions.

Where are sessions held?
Hidden Valley in Santa Rosa. Exact location details come with your booking confirmation.

Does my athlete need training experience?
No. Every athlete starts with movement assessment built into their first sessions, and all programming scales to experience level. Beginners get a foundation; experienced lifters get pushed.

When should we start?
Now. Off-season and pre-season are when the biggest gains happen — by the time tryouts arrive, the work is already banked. In-season athletes train too, with volume managed around games.
